Back Beach Gin is inspired by a wild stretch of coastline loved by surfers and locals alike. In the 1970s, my parents would park our old Combi Van there, and we’d spend our summer days there. Back then, reaching the water meant crossing burning-hot dunes barefoot, racing to the cool relief of the waves. Today, there’s a structured path, but the beach remains untamed — shifting with the seasons, eroding and rebuilding in nature’s own rhythm.

We’ve captured its spirit with native flavours: roasted wattleseed for a warm, nutty depth, sweet-tart wild peach (quandong) for brightness, and wild coastal rosemary for an aromatic, ocean-kissed finish.

Back Beach Gin is both a taste of nostalgia and a tribute to the coast — a place where community gathers, surfers ride the currents, and the ocean writes its story in sand, year after year.

Product introduction

Back Beach Gin with Wattleseed and Wild Peach is a small-batch Australian gin inspired by Back Beach, a wild stretch of coastline near Streaky Bay on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula.

This contemporary gin combines roasted Australian wattleseed for warm, nutty depth, native wild peach—also known as quandong—for a bright, sweet-tart flavour, and wild coastal rosemary for an aromatic, subtly salty finish.

The result is a smooth and distinctive coastal gin: wild, warm and shaped by the sea. Enjoy it with soda water or a quality tonic, garnished with dried citrus.

Why it makes a wonderful gift

Back Beach Gin is a memorable Australian gift for gin lovers, surfers, travellers and anyone who feels connected to the coast.

Its native Australian botanicals and nostalgic Streaky Bay story make it a particularly thoughtful birthday, Christmas, Father’s Day or housewarming gift. It is also a wonderful souvenir or thank-you gift for someone who loves South Australia and the Eyre Peninsula.
